Accommodation

The 3-star Hotel Krn is conveniently located in the very heart of Tolmin. Tolmin combines an old quarter with a functional new town providing all the services you will need including car hire, currency exchange, shops, bars, restaurants and a small daily market. The real beauty of the town is that it is almost entirely encircled by mountains and perfectly situated for easy access to all the activities.

The Hotel Krn is a family run establishment and offers the warmest of Slovenian welcomes. It has 48 comfortably furnished en-suite rooms (twins, triples and larger family rooms) on three floors. The bar is a popular meeting point for locals and visitors alike and the restaurant serves good food from the a la carte menu. The terrace is a lovely place to relax with an ice cream after an active day and the small first floor games room generally keeps the children happily occupied.

Itineraries

Arrival and Night Canoeing


We transfer from Ljubljana Airport to our hotel in Tolmin where we host an introductory dinner. As darkness begins to descend we take to a gentle stretch of the River Soca in inflatable canoes to view the spectacular Slovenian night sky - the perfect introduction.

Exploration Trek


Our trek (approx 6 miles) into the stunning pastures of the Polog Valley is the perfect opportunity to get to know the other families on the holiday. You will visit a WW1 bunker, cross the river on a gondola bridge and we throw in plenty of fun and games to keep even the most reluctant child hiker happy. Picnic included.

Canyoning


An exhilarating canyoning excursion starts with an uphill walk through silent and secluded Trebusa Canyon. Our descent commences with some slides down gentle rapids and small water funnels before encountering some much tougher obstacles downstream. Best of all is a rope assisted descent of a 27 metre waterfall.

Kayaking Tuition & Skills Development


Once you have mastered the essential skills you can control your descent and determine your own pace. We start with basic tuition before attempting a Grade I & II stretch of river........ideal for beginners. Picnic included.

Free Day


Relax, explore or try additional activities which can be booked locally.

Mountain Biking


We spend the whole day exploring the gently undulating back roads that follow the course of the River Soca. There\'s nothing too exhausting but he prepared for a long day in the Slovenia sun. Picnic lunch included.

White Water Rafting


Your descent begins on a calm upper stretch of the River Soca where we introduce games between the rafts such as “pirates” and “beavers”. Further downstream the rapids become stronger and everybody has to work together as you negotiate the fast flowing white water.

Free Day

Tolminka Treasure Hunt


A half-day exploration of the breathtaking Tolminka Gorges. To find your way through the spectacular canyons you will have to solve various clues and tasks.

Mini-Rafting


A huge family favourite and a great way to enjoy the scenery of the Soca Valley. Mini-rafts are perfect for exploring the river descent from Kobarid to Tolmin. A BBQ lunch is included. A farewell dinner will be served tonight.

Depart or Extend your Stay


We return to Ljubljana Airport for the return flight home. Alternatively, you may want to extend your stay and explore Slovenia\'s capital city for a few days.
