A trip of two parts, easy relaxed travel through Morocco, with good facilities and roads. Then expedition style journey across Western Sahara and Mauritania. Flexible itinerary in Sahara to explore but limited facilities. Excellent trip for the adventurous traveller. Itinerary liable to change depending on time needed to explore.General Notes
Because of the nature of this tour, the itinerary may well vary from that published. This trip will involve crossing remote areas and there will be an element of discomfort. Week 2:Eastern Morocco: Guided visit of the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis
Eastern Morocco: 2 night break to roam the backstreets of historic Rabat
Week 3:The Moroccan South: Overland across the High Atlas into the Valley of the Kasbahs
The Moroccan South: 2 nights to explore the vast Todra Gorge, to hike and to visit the local palmery
The Moroccan South: Overnight at and wander through the stunning Ait Benhaddou Kasbah
The Moroccan South: 3 nights in Marrakech to soak up the unbelievable atmosphere
The Moroccan South: 2 night stay in the Medina beach town and colourful port of Essaouira
Week 4:Morocco & Western Sahara: 4 day Western Saharan Desert crossing to Mauritania
Week 5:Saharan Exploration & the Coast: Time for Saharan Desert Exploration, flexible itinerary to allow us to explore
Saharan Exploration & the Coast: Possible areas to visit, the dunefields around the ancient Ksours, such as Chinguetti
Week 4:Morocco & Western Sahara: R&R and civilisation time in Nouakchott
