Reef and Rainforest - Overland Trip

2 weeks: Antigua to Playa del Carmen (KU-CA13R)

An epic adventure through Central America contrasting rainforest and coastline, hills and cities as you travel from one coastline to the next. Starting in San Jose, Costa Rica's capital we visit superb national parks surrounded by exciting landscapes. There's more amazing scenery and memorable sites in Nicaragua, Ometepe, the town in the middle of a lake is one. Onto Honduras for another shot of Caribbean islands at Roatan before we visit the Mayan ruins at Copan where there are waterfalls and trails for hiking. Then we enjoy some city life in Antigua, Guatemala or why not climb an active volcano, before flying to Flores our base for the ruins at Tikal. We then enter Belize to do some diving and snorkelling along the world's second largest coral reef at Caye Caulker. We follow the Caribbean coastline and visit the ruins dominating the cliff tops at Tulum before we finish in Cancun.
