Itineraries (Cancun - Playa del Carmen)

Day 1 Cancun

Relax by the water or head to Zona Arqueologica El Rey to wander around the ruins and meet the sun-loving iguanas.

Day 2 Chichen Itza/Merida

Explore the incredible pyramids and visit El Castillo, best known for its amazing carved snakes.

Days 3-4 Palenque

Climb to the top of these ruins for endless views of the jungle, then cool off in the nearby waterfalls.

Days 5-6 San Cristobal de las Casas

Enjoy the Chiapas highlands and meet the local villagers who mix Catholicism with indigenous religions to create a fascinating hybrid. Why not pop into Cafe Museo Cafe to learn about region's coffee production and relax with a steaming cup of organic coffee?

Days 7-8 Panajachel

Ringed by volcanoes and colourful villages, Panajachel is a great base to explore the region, which is renowned for its outdoor sports.

Days 9-10 Chichicastenango/Antigua

Visit the colourful markets at Chichicastenango before stopping in Antigua, famous for its colonial architecture, scenic surrounds and cobblestone streets. Get active and climb a volcano, go mountain biking or take a leisurely stroll around the ornate churches.

Day 11 Flores/Tikal

Catch a short flight from Flores to Tikal. Rise before dawn for a guided tour of the structures shrouded in morning mist.

Days 12-13 San Ignacio

Surrounded by fast-flowing rivers and forested hills, San Ignacio is the ideal base for exploring the nearby temples, waterfalls and caves.

Days 14-15 Playa del Carmen

Relax on the beaches of Playa del Carmen and raise bottles of cerveza to toast the end of this Maya adventure.
