Magnificent herds of elephants roam the vast savannah plains, white sand and palm trees meet the deep blue sea on the Indian Ocean coast and huge clouds of spray fill the air as the mighty Zambezi crashes over Victoria Falls. Discover spectacular scenery, superb wildlife and fascinating cultures as you travel through the amazing African landscape.

Itineraries

Days 1-8 Kenya/Tanzania

Depart Nairobi and cross the Great Rift Valley en route to the Masai Mara, a world-renowned reserve filled with rolling grasslands, big cats and wildebeest. Camp on the edge of the park and pursue leopards, rhinos and giraffes on game drives. Cross into Tanzania and get a glimpse into the life of the Masai on a guided walk through a local village. Transfer to 4WDs for a three day excursion past the flat topped acacia trees of Serengeti National Park, the 'cradle of mankind' Olduvai Gorge and Ngorongoro Crater for amazing wildlife viewing opportunities. We return to Arusha to explore the markets before continuing to the Indian Ocean coast.

Days 9-14 Zanzibar/Mikumi National Park

Drive under the shadow of Mt Kilimanjaro to the coastal city of Dar es Salaam. Jump aboard a ferry and travel to the exotic 'Spice Island', Zanzibar. Wander through the narrow alleys of Stone Town, soak up the Arabic, Indian and African atmosphere and relax on the beautiful beaches. Returning to the mainland, there's a chance to explore Mikumi National Park before continuing to Malawi.

Days 15-24 Lake Malawi/Zambia

Travel south along the shore of Lake Malawi stopping at various camps and exploring a local village on the way. The lake covers almost a fifth of the country and provides a livelihood for many locals. Those who rise early will be treated to the sight of fishermen in their bwatos (canoes) fishing at the break of day. Make the most of the lakeside activities and go scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing or horse riding are from Kande Beach. Leaving the 'warm heart of Africa' behind, cross the border to Zambia. After a stop at the capital, Lusaka, the adventure comes to an end at Livingstone and the mighty Victoria Falls. There are plenty of adrenaline filled ways to explore the falls. Go abseilling, gorge swinging or even take a flight over its thundering waters. A dramatic finale to an awesome adventure.
