Itineraries

Days 1-7 Zambia/Malawi

The adventure begins in Livingstone, to the thundering sounds of nearby Victoria Falls. Enjoy a cruise on the upper stretches of the Zambezi and glimpse hippos or buffalos wading in the shallows. Meet locals and learn about rural life on a visit to a local village. Make sure to visit the incredible falls themselves. There are plenty of optional activities to make the most of the region: bungee jumping, gorge swinging and flights over the falls. Continue through rural Zambia to Malawi, the 'warm heart' of Africa. Visit Lake Malawi, the third largest lake in Africa and camp on its golden sandy beaches for a few days of relaxation. Take a horse ride through the nearby forests or take a guided walk through a local village to meet the friendly and very welcoming Malawi people.

Days 8-14 Dar es Salaam/Zanzibar

Pass through Mikumi National Park en route to Dar es Salaam. With any luck there will be elephants and giraffes at the side of the road. Camp by the beaches just outside Dar es Salaam before heading off to Zanzibar, the 'Spice Island'. Explore the exotic island's idyllic, palm fringed beaches, tropical forests and old world, Arabic flavoured towns. There is the option to leave the above ground world behind to scuba or snorkel in the warm waters, discovering Africa's underwater treasures. Tantalise the tastebuds with a Spice Tour through the island's plantations or just relax and dine on sumptuous seafood.

Days 15-21 Serengeti National Park/Ngorongoro Crater

Travel inland to the grassy East African plains. If it is clear the snow-capped peaks of Mt Kilimanjaro may be appear in the distance. Stop by the bustling market town of Arusha before setting up camp on the plains. Get a glimpse into the life of the Masai on a village visit. Continue on to Ngorongoro Crater, Serengeti National Park and Olduvai Gorge for more incredible animal viewing. Return to Arusha before a final day's drive across the border into Kenya to finish our tour in Nairobi.
