11 day \'Giant irish Adventure\' - Overland Trip

1 ½ weeks: Dublin to Dublin or v.v. (vt11dgia)

Finn McCool, the legendary Irish giant, was apparently so tall that you could see all of Ireland between his legs*. And like Finn, who could travel the length and breadth of the island in a few easy steps, this epic 11 day day adventure effortlessly explores more of Ireland than most irish people will visit in their lifetime. From the Giant\'s (that would be Finn\'s) Causeway in the very north east to the Blarney Stone in the south west the trip packs in loads of great scenery, walks and outdoor activity, historical and legendary sites and lots more. And if the weather is clear, you might even see Finn McCool himself...

Northern and Northwest Ireland

In 2007 Northern Ireland was named as one of the top ten places in the world to visit but Lonely Planet travel guides. Not suprising really when you consider the great scenery, facinating history and political situation, the activity options and the genuine warm welcome. Plus, of course, for many it is a new area to be explored as the peace has unfolded over the last ten years.

Western and South Western Ireland

Northwest and Western Ireland: Heading across to the north-west Imagine a country of wild moorland, rugged mountain ranges, dark and mysterious lakes, spectacular beaches, hidden villages, rebel castles and prehistoric forts. Vagabond will take you to places that coach tours of Ireland simply cannot reach, and the small group sizes on the tours give us greater flexibility to tailor-make the vacation to suit each group.

It is a region with a huge amount to offer a visitor, and all in a relatively small area. You will have the chance to go for walks, ride a bike or a horse, surf an Atlantic wave, try your hand at fishing or hit a golf ball. The range of activities available is huge and qualified and experienced instructors supervise all. You\'ll also have the chance not to do the activities and just take it easy for four days while we show you around.

Accommodation

The price includes your accommodation and breakfasts, other meals you simply pay for at the time. Lunches tend to be a mixture of picnics, BBQ’s and pub lunches and then in the evening we normally head to a good pub or restaurant for our meal. It is easily possible to eat well for E25pp per day.

For accommodation we normally use a mixture of B&B’s, small hotels and Lodges, all the rooms have private bathrooms and most have tea and coffee in the rooms. (The B&B prices are based on two sharing a room and include full cooked Irish breakfast). Each place is different and adds its own flavour to the tours, we have put a lot of work into finding just the right places and everyone seems really happy with the results.

Accommodation in included in the price. A single supplement of E175 applies for single rooms.

Kitty Notes

Each tour is packed with great scenery, fresh air and outdoor activity, local culture and loads of laughs. We stay away from the coach parks of the main historical sites and head for areas that mortal tours simply cannot reach, lots of time is spent on the beaches, going for walks, heading across to islands etc – it is spectacularly good. Additional activities like surfing (E25-30 per 2 hour session), horse-riding (E25 per hour) and sea kayaking (from E15 per hour) are also possible, but even without these additional activities – the tours are brilliant.
