Day 1,REYKJAVIKArrival day. Check in to your hotel. Later this evening you will have the chance to meet your tour leader and the other members of your tour.
Day 2,REYKJAVIKToday we have a short sightseeing tour of Reykjavik, taking in some of the city’s main highlights. The rest of the day is at leisure and you have the opportunity to take an optional whale watching tour. (B)
Day 3,HVOLSVOLLURLeaving Reykjavik behind we head to Hvolsvollur, taking in some of Iceland’s best attractions along the way, including the spectacular waterfall Gulfoss, and Geysir, the spouting waterhole that gave its name to all others. (B)
Day 4,SKAFTAFELLWe drive along Iceland’s dramatic south coast, visiting waterfalls, canyons, and other strange geological phenomena before we arrive at Skaftafell National Park. (B)
Day 5,SKAFTAFELLA full free day to explore this magnificent national park with its many glaciers and waterfalls. There are plenty of opportunities for hiking for the more energetic. (B)
Day 6,SKAFTAFELLFree day in Skaftafell National Park. (B)
Day 7,LAKE MYVATNDriving past mountains and through the rugged fjords of eastern Iceland we head towards Lake Myvatn, one of the most beautiful areas in the country. (B)
Day 8,LAKE MYVATNA full day to explore Lake Myvatn and Jokulsargljufur National Park. The scenery here is stunning, including awe inspiring canyons, old volcanic craters, Europe’s most powerful waterfall and boiling mud pools. (B)
Day 9,LAKE MYVATNA full day to explore Lake Myvatn and the surrounding areas. (B)
Day 10,AKUREYRIWe head today to Akureyri, Iceland’s northern capital, located beneath snow clad mountains, and one of the most interesting and pretty towns in the country. (B)
Day 11,STYKKISHOLMURToday we drive to Stykkisholmur on the Snaefellsnes peninsula. Along the way we stop to see some of Iceland’s traditional turf houses, as well as more amazing scenery. (B)
Day 12,REYKJAVIKReturn to Reykjavik taking in picturesque hot springs and fjords along the way. (B)
Day 13,REYKJAVIKTour ends. (B)
