For some the harshness of Moscow is too much when compared with the enchanting elegance of St Petersburg, but for others the latter sometimes feels contrived while the former is vibrant and unexpectedly beautiful. But whether it is one or both of these contrasting cities that steal your heart, Russia\'s fairytale onion domed churches, beautiful rivers and opulent legacy of the Tsars, make for an unforgettable experience.

Itineraries

Day 1,MOSCOW

On arrival you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel.

Day 2 to Day 4,MOSCOW

Spend 3 days exploring the city at your leisure. The famous St Basil's Cathedral, with its onion shaped domes, and the Kremlin are just two of the sites to be discovered here. On day 4 board the overnight train to St Petersburg. (B)

Day 5 to Day 7,ST PETERSBURG

Time to wander around Peter the Great's 'Window on the West’ at your own pace. St Petersburg is home to the Hermitage museum, one of the best museums to be found anywhere in the world, among a whole host of other fascinating sights. (B)

Day 8,ST PETERSBURG

Transfer to the airport. (B)
