Join a group of like-minded volunteers to experience and contribute to daily life in a rural village. Working in partnership with grassroots NGOs in the area, this 14 day project focuses on primary education. Schools are over-crowded and lack proper facilities as there is no government funding to add new classrooms putting the burden on the community and parents. Split your time between a building project and teaching at a local school. Working alongside local builders, staying in the community and spending time with the kids, you\'ll become an essential part of the community. Take part in a unique experience where you can really make a difference to a Ugandan community.

Itineraries (Entebbe - Entebbe)

Day 1 Entebbe

Start the day in Entebbe where you'll meet your group and leader for an orientation meeting. Then it's time to swap the busy city streets for country roads as you head to Jinja. Keep an eye out for glimpses of the mighty White Nile. Your new home is in a village near Jinja and you'll be welcomed there by community representatives.

Days 2-13 Teaching and Building

In no time you'll be enjoying the daily routine of building and teaching as you get to know the village, the locals and your fellow team members. Your building and teaching duties will rotate during the day and you'll also have free time to play football with the kids and get to know the adults. Electricity might be sporadic, or not available at all - but this is all part of the adventure!

Day 14 Entebbe

Celebrate your project work and new friendships before returning to Entebbe.
