This trip takes in the very best that Egypt has to offer, and combines it with one of the experiences that you simply must do at least once in your life - cruise on the mighty Nile, lifeblood of ancient civilisations. From the comfort of your boat you will make excursions to fantastic sites that have mystified travellers for centuries - Karnak Temple, the Valley of the Kings, the exotic bazaars of Aswan and much more. Explore the ancient and mysterious metropolis that is Cairo, a city so brash and bold that you cannot fail to be amazed, and follow it up by watching scenes of village life along the banks of the Nile, still played out as they would have been when the first explorers set foot in this majestic land.

Itineraries

Day 1, CAIRO

Transfer to the hotel.

Day 2, CAIRO - ASWAN

A guided visit to the Egyptian Museum and the great Pyramids & Sphinx at Giza. Overnight first class sleeper train to Aswan. (BD)

Day 3, ASWAN

Arrive and transfer to MS Melodie, our private Nile cruise boat. The day is free to explore Aswan. (BLD)

Day 4, ASWAN - KOM OMBO - EDFU

This morning you have the option of going to visit the impressive temples at Abu Simbel. This afternoon you will start cruising up the Nile towards Luxor. The boat stops en route at Kom Ombo. (BLD)

Day 5, EDFU - LUXOR

In the morning you have a chance to visit the temple of Horus at Edfu before continuing sailing to Luxor. (BLD)

Day 6, LUXOR

An early start to visit the Valley of the Kings. In the afternoon you will take horse drawn carriages to Karnak Temple and have a guided tour around the complex. Overnight sleeper train to Cairo. (BD)

Day 7, CAIRO

Arrive in Cairo and transfer to hotel. Free day. (B)

Day 8, CAIRO

Transfer to the airport. (B)
