Intro

Madagascar is an extraordinary island that is home to some truly amazing creatures. See the many species of lemur, such as the aye-aye, or the indri, whose name means look at that! in the local language. After visiting beautiful reserves where the lemurs live, we\'ll travel to the unpronounceable capital Antananarivo before a trip to the pristine beaches of Lokaro Bay. Finally we fly to Ile Sainte Marie, a beautiful tropical island where we can snorkel among coral reefs, go exploring by canoe, and visit the pirate cemetery.

Itineraries

Day 1, ANTANANARIVO

Arrival day.

Day 2, ANTANANARIVO - ANDASIBE

Drive to Andasibe Reserve in the east of the island. Andasibe is known for its many lemurs, including the largest of them all, the Indri Indri. (B)

Day 3, ANDASIBE

This morning we visit Andasibe Reserve to see the creatures that live here. As well as lemurs we have excellent chances of spotting the many unusual frogs and reptiles of the area. Later we visit Vakona Private Reserve where we have the chance to get close to the friendly lemurs that live on the island. (B)

Day 4, ANTANANARIVO

Return to Antananarivo where the rest of the day is free to explore this lively city. (B)

Day 5, BERENTY

Fly to Fort Dauphin and then transfer to Berenty, famous for its population of ring tailed lemurs. (BD)

Day 6, BERENTY

Today we explore the park on forest trails, hoping to see ring tailed lemurs, sifakas and many different species of birds and reptiles. (BD)

Day 7, FORT DAUPHIN

After a free morning we transfer to Fort Dauphin. (BD)

Day 8, FORT DAUPHIN

Visit the lovely Lokaro Bay, a gorgeous stretch of white sand, perfect for relaxing and snorkelling. (BD)

Day 9, ANTANANARIVO

Fly back to Antananarivo. The rest of the day is free. (B)

Day 10, ILE SAINTE MARIE

Fly to Ile Sainte Marie, a beautiful tropical island fringed with palm trees and coral reefs. (B)

Days 11-13, ILE SAINTE MARIE

Three full days to explore all the island has to offer. Choose from canoe trips, snorkelling, visit the pirate cemetery or just relax on the lovely beaches. (B)

Day 14, ANTANANARIVO

Fly back to Antananarivo, where we have day use rooms to relax. Later transfer to the airport for your flight home. Tour ends. (B)
