During the southern winter time (May to September) the crossing of the Lakes between Puerto Varas and Bariloche will be done in two days instead of one, with an overnight stop in Puella on Day 6 of the itinerary.
Itineraries
Day 1,SANTIAGOArrival day.
Day 2,SANTIAGO – PUCONThe Chilean capital is a cosmopolitan city of wide boulevards and landscaped parks set against a stunning backdrop of Andean peaks. We have a free day to explore the city, before boarding the overnight bus to Pucon.
Day 3,PUCONArrive in Pucon, in the heart of the stunning Lake District. Few landscapes can equal its beauty with volcanic cones blanketed by glaciers.
Day 4,PUCONThe excellent facilities offered by the lakeside resort of Pucon give you the chance to enjoy different activities. Choose from hiking, white-water rafting, horse-riding or volcano climbing, among others.
Day 5,PUCON – PUERTO VARASWe take a bus to the small village of Puerto Varas. In the evening we can visit the fish market and enjoy a really fresh seafood dinner.
Day 6,PUERTO VARAS - BARILOCHEIn the morning our epic journey across the Lake District into Argentina begins. This is a beautiful trip that crosses Lake Todos Los Santos, Lake Frias and Lake Nahuel Napi until reaching Bariloche on the south shore.
Day 7 to Day 8,BARILOCHESituated by the clear waters of Lake Nahuel Huapi, San Carlos de Bariloche is definitely one of the top adventure destinations in Argentina. The rivers are ideal for the practice of rafting, the mountain paths are open for hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. In winter skiing is an option as well. The town is also famous for its lively nightlife.
Day 9,BARILOCHEAfter a free day, in the evening we board the Patagonian Express train across the country towards San Antonio Oeste in the Atlantic coast.
Day 10,PUERTO MADRYNWe take a bus to the pleasant seaside town of Puerto Madryn, our base for exploring the Valdez Peninsula and it extraordinary wildlife. Sometimes whales can be spotted directly from the beach just outside town.
Day 11,VALDEZ PENINSULAToday we enjoy a full day tour around the Valdez Peninsula. The peninsula is home of countless marine mammals along with a rich variety of birds. Southern right whales and their calves show up in season (June to early December). You may even get a glimpse of a bunch of orcas (Killer Whales) hunting.
Day 12,PUERTO MADRYNFree day to explore the area or take an excursion to see the penguins. In the evening we take an overnight bus to Buenos Aires.
Day 13,BUENOS AIRESArrive in Buenos Aires and transfer to the hotel. The rest of the day is free.
Day 14,BUENOS AIRESArgentina’s capital is famous for its tango, football, sophisticated outlook and European-style architecture. A full day to explore the city.
Day 15,BUENOS AIRESTour ends.
