1 week: Kiruna to Kiruna (IMT-UTHL)

Intro

Head to Lapland on a winter adventure where you stay in a magical wilderness lodge amidst brilliant snowy alpine scenery for a week of working with huskies. You\'ll learn how to harness them and tether them to the sled. Then you can set off on a wonderful dog sled through the surrounding snowcovered landscape and alpine woodlands.

As this trip takes place within the Arctic Circle, weather conditions can sometimes mean that certain activities may not be possible, and that the itinerary can often change.

The itinerary may also change slightly over the Christmas/New Year season.

Itineraries

Day 1,KIRUNA

Head to Lapland on a winter adventure for a week of living amidst some spectacular scenery and commanding of a team of huskies. Fly to Kiruna in northern Sweden and transfer to the wilderness lodge where over the coming days we will meet the dogs and learn how to handle the sled. (D)

Day 2 to Day 7,HUSKY SLEDDING

After breakfast you will be schooled in the art of ‘mushing’, and learn how to handle your husky team, including how to harness them and how to command. After lunch take your first training trip with your new animal friends. In the evening you have the opportunity to take a traditional Swedish sauna. (BLD)

Day 8,KIRUNA

Transfer back to Kiruna for your flight home. (B)
